The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Monday said the federal government has approved the review of the employment of 2,000 applicants into the Nigeria Immigration Service in February 2015, which it considers irregular.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Ekpedeme Kings, the Service’s Head of Public Relations, on behalf of the Controller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr. Mohammed Babandede, in Abuja.

The statement read: “The NIS wishes to inform the 2,000 applicants for employment into the Service who were irregularly issued letters of employment in February, 2015, that the Federal Government has approved the review of the case.”

According to the statement, the review of the irregular employment followed the emergency meeting of the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration, and Prisons Services Board (CDFIPB), held last week in Abuja.
