One of the All Progressives Congress governorship aspirants in Ondo state, Senator Ayo Akinyelure, has said he would try to introduce similar initiatives that gave Lagos state an edge over others in the area of internally generated revenue.
The aspirant boasted that he gave the former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the manual that helped the state achieve huge IGR that made him survive the period Obasanjo denied Lagos State 19 months’ federal allocation.
The Senator made the pledge in an interview with THISDAY at the National Secretariat of the APC shortly after submitting his nomination form for the APC Ondo Governorship primaries coming up n the 27th of August 2016.
According to him: “It is me that was the architect of IGR of Lagos State Government. I was instrumental, i gave Lagos State the bible of Revenue Generation when then when Asiwaju Bola Ahmed was elected the governor of Lagos State in 1999.”
Akinyelure explained that Tinubu met virtually an empty treasury until he was appointed chairman.
