Dangote: Obajana-Kabba Road to Gulp N11bn

The president of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has said the construction of Obajana-Kabba road will gulp the sum of N11 billion.
He disclosed this yesterday during a courtesy visit to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, in Lokoja.

Dangote said he was determined to embark on the construction of the road once all the details are concluded.
He also expressed support for the state government in diversifying the economy of the state, adding that he was ready to be a partner in terms of development of the state.

 According to him, Dangote Group was more determined than ever to come to the aid of the state by diversifying the economy through massive agricultural development, job creation and building of road which has become more important now in the life of the state and the country.

Pointing out that the company has been dragged into mining, Dangote noted that $160million had been sank into coal mining in Ankpa and building of the road which N5.2 billion has been made available, noting that his company was ready to commence the operation within the next 30 days.

Earlier, Governor Bello reiterated the support of the state to ensure that Dangote succeeds as number one corporate individual to be appreciated in area of support.

 He said Dangote had shown commitment to cooperate with the government on security, investments in mining and agriculture and to step up corporate social responsibility.

“We will ensure that the government gives all the necessary support to Dangote for his success as it concerns Kogi and the citizens of the state in corporate social responsibility because the challenges we face are enormous but we have no choice than to succeed,” he added.
