After several weeks of strenuous screening exercise, the Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (FUAM), has ratified the appointment of Dr. Hellen Nyitse as the new Registrar of the new institution.
Nyitse, who emerged tops among the 17 contestants who vied for the position is one of the longest serving staff in the registry department of the institution.
Her appointment has been greeted with celebration among staff and students of the university most of whom described the process leading to her emergence as transparent and highly commendable.
In his reaction, Dr. Tersagh Ichor of the Biological Sciences Department of the institution said the process that led to the appointment of the new registrar which was observed by the Federal Character Commission was transparent and credible.
Ichor said, “the university community is celebrating her appointment because the template that was used in the interview and subsequent appointment was not political motivated and devoid of any external influence. It was credible and transparent.
