The Swiss Education Group yesterday held its first African Hospitality Workshop at the Eko Hotel Lagos. The day-long event was targeted at presenting the opportunities in the hospitality industry to young Nigerians starting out in life or considering a change in career.

This is against the backdrop of the prediction by the World Travel & Tourism Council that the tourism industry will generate about seven million jobs per year for the next ten years.

Among the seasoned professionals and tourism industry bigwigs that were at the workshop to share their knowledge, experiences and insights with scores of young Nigerians present include Director General, Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), Mrs. Sally Mbanefo; CEO of Wakanow, Obinna Ekezie; CEO No Surprises Events, Funmi Victor-Okigbo; CEO Food Fashion Fusion, Nkem Odewunmi; Lead Researcher, The W Hospitality Group, Belinda Nwosu and Chief Brand and Marketing Officer, Swiss Education Group, Benoit Samson.

Participants got to learn about business opportunities in tourism, possible challenges and how to overcome them and how to access world-class education opportunities in tourism and hospitality.
