Parents of School Boy Murdered in Uyo Seek Justice

Parents of a 14 years old school boy, Utibe-Abasi Imowo, murdered in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, have called for justice to be done in the case by bringing the culprits to book.

Also, the father of the boy, Mr. Imowo Sampson, has sought police protection, alleging that his life was seriously under threat from those suspected to be directly or indirectly connected to the killing of his son.

THISDAY gathered that little Imowo, SS 1 student of Raf-field secondary school, Uyo,was killed on April 5, 2016 in Pinnacle Hotel, Edet Akpan Avenue, 4 Lane, Uyo, and the body reportedly dumped in the swimming pool of the hotel.

Already, a gang of seven secondary school students including a girl from Noble International School and Monef High School all in Uyo, the state capital, have been arrested and now being kept in prison custody pending prosecution.

The life guard of the swimming pool of the hotel where the incident occurred is also being held and detained in the prison custody awaiting trial.

According to sources, when the incident occurred, initial diagnoses had indicated that the deceased was drowned in the swimming pool but further autopsy on the body following interest shown by the police hierarchy proved that it was a murder case as there was no water seen in the vital organs.
