FRSC, Gamadev Partner on World Martial Arts

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Gamadev Nigeria Limited have sealed a partnership on the World Martial Arts Championship to be hosted in Nigeria this year.

The event will be held at the National Stadium, Lagos, from November 21-27. It will be the first World Martial Arts Championship in Africa.
The international body appointed Gamadev, led by Godstime Omadevue, as the sole promoter of the championship. At the courtesy visit by the event Local Organising Committee, FRSC agreed to provide technical support in traffic control for the event.

The FRSC Corps Marshall, Boboye Opeyemi, represented at the ocassion by Deputy Corps Marshall Kabiru A. Lawal, said the agency would affiliate with Gamadev in the training of its personnel in martial arts and combat sports.

Boboye attributed the fitness of FRSC personnel manning Nigerian roads to their involvement in sports, particularly the martial arts. He noted that the agency is already affiliated to the Taekwondo Association of Nigeria.

A Nigerian, Ogaga Jesse, is a Black Belt holder in world martial arts, who boasts of 267 worldwide awards in the arts. Omadevue disclosed of the plan to build a martial world academy in Nigeria, the first in Africa and the second of its kind in the world.
