Nigerian troops of 1 Brigade of the Nigerian Army operating under the auspices of Operation MESA in Zamfara State have cleared cattle rustlers and armed bandits from their camp.

The Director of Army Public Relations (DAPR), Col. Sani Usman, said that the troops had on Tuesday raided the suspected cattle rustlers and armed bandits’ camp at Yan Mangu forest, near Dandindin village, Maru Local Government Area (LGA) of the State.

He said that the troops also arrested two bandits and recovered  one AK-47 rifle, AK-47 rifle magazine loaded with seven rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunitions, three  locally made guns and a motorcycle.

He stated that the two suspects were arrested while attempting to flee from the camps.

Usman however, urged members of the public to continue to be more security conscious and report any suspicious movement or persons  to the nearest security  agencies.
