World Bank’s MD Meets Buhari

The Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the World Bank, Ms. Sri Mulyani Indrawati, on Wednesdaymet with President ‎Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
 
Indrawati, who spoke with journalists after the meeting, said she discussed the Nigerian economy, climate change, the fight against corruption and insecurity with Buhari.
 
She said the bank would like to know how it could help Nigeria to take important decisions, whether on micro economic policy and other sectoral policies that would make the Nigeria to become a strong middle income country and to have a much more inclusive growth as well as a vibrant economic activity and creating job and eradicating poverty.

‎She commended Buhari for restoring stability and security in the country.
 
Indrawati‎ also lauded the decision of Buhari to focus on creating jobs and eradicating poverty and the ‎fight againstcorruption.

She said: “I am here with our team to visit Nigeria. This is my first visit to this country. It reminds me a lot about my own country in Indonesia. This is a very short visit but very productive.
