Pink to Open Billboard Music Award 2016

Pink would have the privilege to have her first TV live performance of her latest single ‘Just like Fire’ at the Billboard Music Award on May 22, 2015 in Las Vegas.
An enthusiastic singer shared the news on Twitter and Instagram. The song is from her unreleased album ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’. The album is set to release five days after the award ceremony.
The award will be co-hosted by Ludacris and Ciara.

WWE LOSES PRO WRESTLER CHYNA
Joanie Laurer popularly known as Chyna and 9th wonder of the world was found dead in her apartment Redondo Beach, C.A on Wednesday morning. The wrestler who was not seen or heard for days was found unresponsive in her room with prescription bottles scattered around the house.

Investigations suggest likely drug overdose since the wrestler had a drug abuse history.
Chyna made history in 1999 when she became the first woman to participate in the WWF’s Royal Rumble. She also won the WWF Intercontinental Championship title twice and the Women’s Championship once.
Her death came just a week after she posted a video on YouTube looking alive and well. She was aged 45.

PRETTY WOMAN STAR, JULIA ROBERTS SET TO BE A MOM
Star Magazine reportedly alleged that the ‘Pretty Woman’ star Julia Roberts, is pregnant. The 48 year-old actress whose marriage to Danny Moder has been speculated to hit the rocks sees the pregnancy as sign of saving their marriage. Although her reps are yet to confirm the pregnancy, a source told the magazine that the pregnancy news has brought the couple closer.

WARNER BROS MOVES ‘BLADE RUNNER’ SEQUEL UPFRONT
The earlier scheduled date, January 12, 2018 according to Warner Bros collided with the Martin Luther King Jr’s weekend. Its new date October 6, 2017 is however unfavourable.
The untitled project is a sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 film and features Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling among others. The sci-fi production is in conjunction with Alcon entertainment.

SELENA GOMEZ GETS BUSY ON TV
The young Disney alum, Selena Gomez, is getting her hands filled with scripts. She collaborated with Kevin Spacey to produce an autobiographic TV series that will mirror her life as a young Hollywood star.
She is also working on Netflix’s new mini-series ‘13 Reasons Why’ which is based on Jay Asher’s 2007 novel of the same title. The story revolves around a student who commits suicides and left a series of tape behind that revealed 13 reasons why she took her life.
Apart from preparing for her world tour, the musician is also producing a drama about a Latin teen living in a poverty-stricken neighbourhood.

MATT DAMON RETURNS AS JASON BOURNE A DECADE AFTER
It’s been ten years Matt Damon played the iconic role of Jason Bourne in the Bourne series, the movie that launched him to stardom. With an official tease at the super bowl two months ago, the official trailer was released last week.
In the movie directed by Paul Greengrass, Damon returns with his memory restored and in a hot chase of brutal brawls and gunfire. The movie is set to hit the cinemas on July 29.

WALT DISNEY ENDS JOINT VENTURE WITH UNIVISION
On April 21, Walt Disney sold its 50 per cent stake to Univision, ending a nearly three year-old Fusion Network joint venture. The decision was reached due to Fusion’s failure to achieve the targeted goals within its short period, leading to a monumental loss of money.
Adding to this is the apparent boycott by Univision to attract more viewers in the Latin community. It also took on a political stance that did not augur well with Disney executives.
Univision which plans to use Fusion as a multi-platform destination for the new rising American mainstream will now take over ABC’s distribution and advert sales role while maintaining editorial control.
