The federal government has charged federal public servants in the country to ensure regular and complete check-up of their health in order to ensure punctuality and effective service delivery.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoSF), Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, gave the charge Friday in Abuja when she declared open a five-day free medical check-up for federal civil servants in the country.
According to her, most of the reported cases of collapse of some workers either on their way to their respective offices or during office hours could be attributed to lack of proper medical check-up to determine their health status.
Oyo–Ita advised workers to always create time out of their busy schedules to ensure that they have a thorough medical check-up of their health.
She added that check up was imperatives in view of the fact that in recent times, there are reported cases all over the world of increase in hypertension among the adult population and other related contagious diseases that could be devastating if not detected at the earlier stage for possible and proper medical attention.
Workers, Oyo-Ita added should seize the opportunity of the five day free medical check-up to ensure that they know their health status.
The HoS used the opportunity to check up her health status.
She assured of government’s determination at ensuring a healthy workforce which would be committed to providing effective, efficient and prompt services to Nigerians.
She stated that the free medical check-up would be a regular exercise.
