Jordan Messoud Wants Young Entrepreneurs to Focus on Learning First

Jordan Messoud’s advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is less complicated than the business models he has built: learn first, earn later.

The entrepreneur has repeatedly argued that people entering business should not make money their only motivation. Instead, he encourages beginners to become students of their chosen industry, absorb information and learn from people who have already achieved success.

“Learn before you earn” has become a useful description of that philosophy.

Messoud’s own career provides the context for his advice. His entrepreneurial journey began with small-scale selling before moving into affiliate marketing, e-commerce and eventually property investment. Along the way, he has said he studied different business models and learned from mentors before applying those lessons to his own ventures.

He also places significant emphasis on relationships. According to Messoud, aspiring entrepreneurs should surround themselves with experienced people because the right network can accelerate learning and create opportunities.

That philosophy is also reflected in J Messoud University, his online mentorship and education platform. Rather than presenting entrepreneurship as an overnight success story, the programme is built around practical lessons from his experience selling online.

For Messoud, entrepreneurship is therefore not simply about generating revenue. It is about developing knowledge, understanding markets, building relationships and remaining patient enough for those skills to produce results.

His message is particularly relevant to younger entrepreneurs attracted to the promise of fast money online: expertise, he argues, should come before income.
