Enugu Air Pioneers Direct Flight from Its Operational Hub to Doula Cameroon

State-owned airline, Enugu Air, is set to make history by operating the first direct commercial flight from its operations hub, Enugu to Doula, largest city in the Central African nation, Cameroon.

This is Enugu Air’s first regional flight, which targets businessmen and women who travel across the two neighbouring countries for business.

Cameroonian traders travel in high numbers to Aba and Onitsha and connect these two cities through Abakaliki and Enugu; so, with direct flight to Doula, Enugu Air offers faster and safer travel by air.

The airline in a statement signed by its Chief Operating Officer (COO), Mr. Ugonna Agubuokwu, said Enugu Air is set to strengthen regional connectivity with the introduction of direct flights between Enugu and Douala, Cameroon, stating that the new route is designed to bring businesses, families and opportunities closer together. 

“This is more than the introduction of a new route. It is about creating stronger connections between Nigeria and Cameroon, and making regional travel more accessible, convenient and seamless for our passengers,’ the airline stated.

The COO said the service will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Wednesdays, disclosing that passengers from Lagos and Abuja can connect via Enugu

“Flights from Enugu are scheduled to depart at 12:45 p.m., arriving in Douala at 1:45 p.m. The return service will depart Douala at 2:30 p.m., arriving in Enugu at 3:30 p.m. The timing is such that passengers can connect from Lagos and Abuja. For business, for opportunity, and for the connections that matter, Africa is closer than you think.”, he said.

Agubuokwu added that the new Enugu–Douala connection will further reinforce Enugu Air’s ambition to make regional travel simpler and more connected.

Cameroon is one of the top countries that have highest number of Nigerians in the Diaspora with estimated 7 million Nigerians and majority of them came from South East and South-South Nigeria.
