Veritas Glanvills Pensions Limited (VG Pensions) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting its customers beyond their active working years, as it hosted its 2026 Annual Northwest Retiree Forum in Kaduna.

The forum which took place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Auditorium of the National Ear Care Centre in Kaduna, brought together retirees in the North West region whose pension funds are under the management of VG Pensions.

During the forum there were fruitful interactions between the Company representatives and the retirees on a wide range of issues ranging from life in retirement to pension administration, access to benefits, and overall wellbeing of the retirees. The forum also gave the Company an opportunity to provide timely information on developments within the pension industry, address their concerns, and strengthen the relationship it has built with the clients throughout their pension journey.

A major highlight of the event was the provision of free medical services to participants. Healthcare professionals were on ground to conduct basic medical checks and attend to the health needs of the retirees, reflecting VG Pensions’ recognition that a fulfilling retirement encompasses not only financial security but also good health and overall wellbeing.

Speaking at the event, the Head of Business Development (North), Mr. Abdallah Fika, reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to remaining connected with its customers throughout retirement.
“At Veritas Glanvills Pensions Limited, we recognise that our responsibility does not end when our customers retire. Retirement marks the beginning of a new chapter, and we remain committed to providing the information, guidance and support that can help our retirees navigate this phase with confidence, dignity and peace of mind.”

In a presentation on retirement benefits, the Head of Benefits Administration, Mr. Jimkelly Ekomaye, took participants through the various modes of accessing their Retirement Savings Accounts (RSA), key features of the pension scheme, and the documentation required for processing retirement benefits.

He explained the factors that influence the determination of retirees’ lump-sum payments and monthly pensions, including date of birth, date of retirement, gender, RSA balance, and final salary. He also provided clarification on the conditions under which a retiree’s monthly pension may qualify for enhancement, giving participants greater insight into the processes governing their retirement benefits.

Mr. Ekomaye also introduced participants to PenCare, a free healthcare initiative of the National Pension Commission (PenCom) designed to improve access to medical services for eligible retirees. He explained the initiative and provided useful guidance on the healthcare support available to eligible retirees under the programme.

The interactive session also provided retirees with an opportunity to raise questions, share their experiences, and seek clarification on issues relating to their pension benefits and retirement. Participants expressed their appreciation for the initiative, describing the engagement as very informative, while noting its value in strengthening their confidence in VG Pensions and its continued commitment to their welfare.

The retirees commended VG Pensions for its exceptional service delivery and continued attention to their needs. Participants particularly praised the responsiveness of the Company, describing its representatives as courteous, approachable, and consistently willing to listen to them, and eager to find solution to their issues. The retirees further expressed their appreciation for the opportunity given them to engage directly with the Company and receive clear explanations on pension-related matters and their concerns in an open and reassuring environment. For many participants, the forum was a reflection of VG Pensions’ commitment to ensuring that retirees continue to feel valued, heard, respected, and supported through their retirement journey.

As a Pension Fund Administrator, VG Pensions is committed to deepening financial inclusion and strengthening retirement security in Nigeria. The Company will continue to deliver accessible, efficient, and customer-focused pension services. The 2026 Annual Northwest Retiree Forum underscores its belief that its relationship with RSA holders extends beyond their active years of service and into their life in retirement.
