Poco Lee Faces Charges of Alleged Rape in UK

Up until the news began circulating, with some early reports linking his said UK incident to an alleged sexual offence, Poco Lee’s reported detention was largely less reckoned with until it began to draw public discussion and gen­er­ate reac­tions across social media with some entertainers, and influencers weighing in on the issue which continues to gain traction.

Media reports quoting a statement from the Snaresbrook Crown Court in the United Kingdom, said Poco Lee, a popular Nigerian dancer and entertainer is facing charges and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. Reports of his alleged detention made the rounds on social media and major news platforms between 18 and 19 August.

By August 24, a source identified as Oluomo of Derby confirmed via social media that dance artist was being held on remand in a UK prison, with a plea hearing scheduled for the second week of September, where he is expected to pleading guilty or not guilty. A case under the name Iweh Odinaka aka Poco Lee was subsequently identified at Snaresbrook Crown Court.

The court’s Admin Team Lead, James Baker, confirmed in a report that the case is listed for plea and trial preparation on September 15, 2026. Baker, wrote, “OFFICIAL. Good afternoon. I can confirm that this case is currently listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court for plea and trial preparation on the 15th September 2026.

“Criminal Court hearings are open to the public. Precise times and courtroom information will not be available until the day before the hearing. Many thanks.” Meanwhile, his team has urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims about the entertainer. Poco Lee’s management addressed his UK sexual assault case, saying drink-spiking claims are not part of the allegations before the court.

In a statement dated August 25, the team said it was aware of the ongoing public discussion around allegations against their client and urged the public, media and well-meaning individuals to exercise restraint while the matter proceeds through the legal process. A close friend of music artiste, Bella Shmurda, Poco Lee rose to stardom working with different artistes, brands, events, and con­certs organisers.
