Nigerian Firm Innovates AI App to Enable Flight Booking

A Nigerian travel agency, Safety Travels Ltd, has innovated an App that utilises Artificial Intelligence to book flights from any part of the world.

The firm unveiled the Al solution and how it could be effectively deployed at a media parley in Abuja. 

Its General Manager, Joseph Agofure, said travellers or the facilitators could easily manage their booking through their phones or laptops on the company’s website- safetytravels.org-via the AI assistant, trained to understand several Nigerian languages, including Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa and even the Pidgin language.

He explained that the AI would articulate the voice or written prompt and subsequently convert it in a way a traveller making the booking would see in flight terms.

He stated that the AI features could help travellers navigate cheap flights by indicating the available flights in progression, in addition to the variety of fares, from the least fare to the highest. 

He added that the application was designed to be user friendly, such that once enabled, it would display a microphone assigned to activate the voice prompt.

“Once that is enabled, you can say a speech, and then it will get it and turn it into real-time flight itinerary for you. It is so easy that a market woman could be able to just make a request,” Agofure said.
