Yellow Card, a leading licensed stablecoin infrastructure and payments provider, is currently advancing its global expansion plan beyond the African markets, Nigeria inclusive, following a series of major milestones, including a $40 million strategic funding round it recently secured.

Its latest funding round included investment from SC Ventures by Standard Chartered, Sony Innovation Fund, Polychain Capital, Blockchain Capital,

and other strategic investors, bringing Yellow Card’s total equity financing to more than $120 million.

The Group Vice President of Operations and Managing Director of Yellow Card Nigeria, Lasbery Oludimu, who disclosed the global expansion plan during a media briefing in Lagos, said with the latest funding round, the company would expand its regulatory footprint, and grow partnerships with global financial and payments companies in US, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

The company now operates across more than 50 markets, providing stablecoin payments, fiat settlement rails, wallet services and custom local stablecoin issuance.

According to Oludimu, the company’s expansion reflects a deliberate strategy

focused on building the infrastructure, partnerships and regulatory foundations required to operate globally.

“Our growth is not simply about entering more countries. We are building the infrastructure, regulatory footprint and partnerships required to connect businesses across markets reliably and compliantly. Africa remains central to that story, even as we expand globally,” Oludimu said.

The new funding will support the expansion of Global USD Accounts, Yellow Card’s end-to-end dollar account for businesses, and strengthen the stablecoin rails connecting its markets worldwide.

Speaking about Yellow Card’s infrastructure, Oludimu said it has a single API integration that gives customers access to different operating options.

“If you have a business in Nigeria, and you have a branch in Ghana, Kenya, and other African markets, once we do that API integration with you, it gives you access to use the other markets for your own operations,” Oludimu said.
