2027: Alli’s Grassroots Support Will Deliver Oyo to APC, Oyewumi Declares

A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Prince Oyekunle Oyewumi, has declared that the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Senator Sarafadeen Alli, is strategically positioned to win the governorship election on the strength of his extensive grassroots support across the state.

Oyewumi, a former member of the Board of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), described Alli as an astute public administrator, consummate politician and philanthropist whose political experience, inclusive leadership style and longstanding engagement with the people of the state would give him a competitive advantage in the 2027 contest.

The APC chieftain, in a statement on Monday, said Alli had over the years built a formidable grassroots political network across the nooks and crannies of Oyo State, stressing that his experience and understanding of the state would be valuable in steering its affairs if elected governor.

According to him, Alli’s political pedigree and contributions to the growth and development of Oyo State had demonstrated his capacity to provide purposeful leadership and take the state to greater heights.

Oyewumi, who is also a businessman and Ogbomoso prince, urged APC members and supporters to remain united, calm and committed to the party ahead of the 2027 general election, expressing confidence that the party would emerge victorious.

He also commended Alli for what he described as his inclusive approach to leadership and spirit of sportsmanship, saying the governorship candidate had demonstrated the capacity to accommodate divergent views and build consensus among party members and stakeholders.

Oyewumi equally praised the leadership of the APC in the state for upholding the ideals of the party and promoting unity in its activities, urging members to sustain the momentum as preparations for the 2027 elections gather pace.

He further commended the people of the state for their support for the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying the Federal Government’s policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda would address some of the structural and economic challenges inherited from previous administrations.

The APC chieftain expressed optimism that the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration would ultimately translate into improved economic opportunities and better living conditions for Nigerians.

He urged Oyo residents to continue to support the Federal Government, arguing that sustained implementation of its reform agenda would help correct what he described as the anomalies of the past.

Oyewumi maintained that the combination of Alli’s political experience, grassroots acceptance and leadership qualities, alongside the APC’s organisational structure, would place the party in a strong position ahead of the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.
