All On Opens Applications for 2026 Off-Grid Energy Challenge

All On has launched the 2026 edition of its Off-Grid Energy Challenge, a competition aimed at supporting Nigerian companies developing renewable energy and off-grid electricity solutions.

Applications opened on July 2 and will close on July 31, 2026.

According to the organisation, the initiative is designed to identify and support businesses developing commercially viable solutions in renewable energy, productive-use technologies, energy efficiency, cold-chain systems and other off-grid energy applications.

Successful applicants will receive funding ranging from $200,000 to $1 million through a combination of grant and commercial financing, alongside technical assistance and investment-readiness support.

The organisation said this year’s edition will prioritise projects focused on productive use of energy, mini-grids, solar home systems and other technologies aimed at improving electricity access in underserved communities.

Speaking at the launch, Innovation Hub Manager at All On, Sele Inegbedion, said the programme was intended to support entrepreneurs developing solutions to Nigeria’s energy challenges.

“The Off-Grid Energy Challenge exists because we believe the solutions to Nigeria’s energy challenges can be developed by local entrepreneurs. Our role is to identify and support those innovations as they grow,” he said.

Chief Executive Officer of All On, Caroline Eboumbou, said the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to supporting enterprises working to expand access to off-grid energy.

According to All On, the challenge has, since 2018, supported 36 Nigerian-owned companies through funding for projects aimed at improving access to clean energy.

The organisation said eligible applicants must be majority Nigerian-owned and managed, legally registered for-profit companies operating in Nigeria, with proposals demonstrating innovation, commercial viability and the potential to serve unserved or underserved communities.
