TeKnowledge, Equinix Partner on Cloud, AI Infrastructure in West Africa

TeKnowledge has announced a partnership with Equinix aimed at supporting enterprises and public sector organisations in West Africa to expand hybrid and multi-cloud adoption and strengthen digital infrastructure for artificial intelligence (AI) workloads.

According to a statement by the companies, the collaboration combines Equinix’s data centre and interconnection infrastructure with TeKnowledge’s expertise in AI, data management, cybersecurity and customer experience solutions.

The partners said the arrangement is designed to help organisations deploy digital services while addressing requirements related to data residency, security and regulatory compliance.

TeKnowledge said its engineering workforce, which includes Nigerian technology professionals, will support the design, deployment and management of digital transformation projects across the region.

The companies added that the partnership is intended to support cloud adoption, AI-driven applications and other data-intensive workloads by providing secure connectivity and scalable infrastructure.

Chief Executive Officer and President of TeKnowledge, Aileen Allkins, said organisations across Africa are seeking to modernise their infrastructure while maintaining performance, security and compliance standards.

“Through our partnership with Equinix, we are combining digital infrastructure with local expertise to help customers accelerate cloud adoption, strengthen resilience and support AI and emerging technology initiatives,” she said.

Managing Director of Equinix West Africa, Wole Abu, said the collaboration would combine Equinix’s global infrastructure platform with local technical expertise to support organisations pursuing cloud and AI projects in the region.

“Together, Equinix and TeKnowledge are working to support organisations seeking to expand cloud adoption and build secure digital ecosystems across West Africa,” Abu said.

Territory Director for Africa at TeKnowledge, Olugbolahan Olusanya, said the partnership would focus on helping organisations implement hybrid cloud, interconnection and cybersecurity strategies suited to African markets.

The companies said the initiative would prioritise sectors where demand for secure and scalable digital infrastructure is increasing, including financial services, telecommunications, government agencies, energy, healthcare and digital-native businesses.

They added that the partnership aligns with broader efforts to support digital transformation, improve cybersecurity resilience and strengthen data infrastructure across Nigeria and the wider West African region.
