Air Peace Boss, Allen Onyema, Flying the Flag of Patriotism
One would be hard-pressed to find anyone who still doubts the genuine love that Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, has for Nigeria. Time and again, the aviation magnate has demonstrated that his devotion to his fatherland is nothing short of extraordinary and, indeed, inextinguishable.
For a man who has built one of Africa’s most formidable airlines from the ground up, it would have been easy to focus solely on business and profit. But Onyema has consistently shown that his vision extends far beyond balance sheets and corporate milestones. At every critical moment in the nation’s history, he has demonstrated an uncommon willingness to put country before self.
The aviation entrepreneur has often stepped in whenever Nigerians have found themselves in distress, offering hope where there was despair. His latest intervention, undertaken in partnership with the Federal Government, to evacuate stranded Nigerians, is yet another reminder that for Onyema, patriotism is not a slogan but a way of life.
His airline has embarked on the evacuation of Nigerians stranded in South Africa, offering relief and hope to compatriots caught in xenophobic attacks.
This is not unfamiliar territory for the Air Peace boss. Nigerians will readily recall his remarkable role in the past during such attacks in South Africa when he deployed his airline to bring stranded compatriots back home.
Despite the criticisms that often trail his humanitarian gestures, Onyema has remained unfazed. He neither seeks applause nor appears interested in public validation. Instead, he continues to respond to every challenge with the same quiet determination and compassion that have become his hallmark.
