Nigeria Showcases Carbon Market Potential in London, Targets $3bn Annual Climate Finance

Nigeria has projected itself as a major destination for climate finance and green investments, with experts estimating that the country could generate between 40 million and 60 million high-integrity carbon credits annually and unlock between $1.2 billion and $3 billion in new climate finance.

This position was highlighted at the Nigeria Climate Investment Summit (NCIS) 2026 held at the historic Mansion House in the City of London as part of the London Climate Action Week (LCAW) 2026.

The summit, which was selected as one of the official Flagship Events of London Climate Action Week, brought together senior Nigerian government officials, legislators, governors, regulators, development finance institutions, global investors, innovators, and diaspora capital networks to explore opportunities for climate finance, green industrialisation, and Nigeria-United Kingdom collaboration.
