MajesticRoobee Founder Calls for Greater Support for Local Beauty Brands

Founder of MajesticRoobee, Jonathan Peace, has called for greater support for locally owned beauty brands, highlighting the challenges faced by entrepreneurs operating in Nigeria’s beauty and fragrance industry.

Speaking at a business forum in Abuja, Peace said rising production costs, dependence on imported fragrance ingredients, and exchange rate volatility continue to place significant pressure on local manufacturers.

She also identified negative perceptions about Nigerian-made products as a major obstacle confronting women-owned beauty businesses.

According to her, many local brands are producing high-quality products that can compete favourably with international alternatives but often struggle to gain the same level of consumer confidence and support.

“There is still a belief among some consumers that Nigerian-made products are inferior. We are proving that local brands can compete with international standards,” she said.

Peace noted that increased patronage of locally produced beauty products would help strengthen indigenous businesses, create jobs, and contribute to the growth of the country’s creative and manufacturing sectors.

The entrepreneur recently launched a new fragrance collection under the MajesticRoobee brand, designed to promote women’s wellness, self-confidence, and emotional well-being amid growing concerns about stress and burnout.

She explained that the products are manufactured in Nigeria through locally managed production processes, while incorporating ethically sourced ingredients from different parts of the world. According to her, the collection was inspired by the need to encourage women to reconnect with themselves and prioritise self-care in their daily lives.

Participants at the forum also stressed the importance of wellness and supportive communities for women. Lifestyle content creator and influencer Lucy Onyinyechi Ibezimako, popularly known as VibeswithOnyi, commended MajesticRoobee for prioritising women’s health and well-being alongside business growth.

Similarly, content creator Ogomegbunam Ezeghalike, popularly known as Ogom’s Series, described the fragrances as distinctive and reflective of individuality, noting that self-confidence is built through consistent attention to emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.
