TVET Conference to Unlock Opportunities for Nigerian Youth
In a bid to unlock opportunities for Nigeria’s growing youth population the National Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) has concluded plans to hold its 2026 conference that will also advance skills, create employment opportunities, and have industrial growth.
Convened by the Federal Ministry of Education and Lagos State Government through Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board (LASTVEB), the conference themed, “Harnessing TVET as a Pathway to Employment: Building a System for Employability, Inclusion, and Green Growth in Nigeria” will bring together key stakeholders from across government, industry experts, development partners, academia, and civil society organizations, to strengthen coordination and accelerate reforms within Nigeria’s TVET ecosystem.
The 2026 conference, it said in a statement, represents a unique opportunity to transform ongoing reforms into coordinated, scalable, and sustainable actions that respond to labour market demands and unlock opportunities for Nigeria’s growing youth population.
“This event is supported by the German, Swiss, Korean, and French governments and organised in cooperation with Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and other development partners, including the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and ECOWAS, United Nations Educational, amongst others,” it said.
