In commemoration of Children’s Day 2026, holdbodí Community Support carried out a food outreach across multiple communities in Lagos, providing meals and food support through a collective effort powered by six brands and 51 individuals.

The outreach, which took place across Ebute-Metta, Makoko, Agege, and Ogba, reached 1,347 children and adults across the various communities visited.

Speaking at the outreach, Chief Marketing Officer of Leadway Assurance, Mr. Olusakin Labeodan, said that “At Leadway, supporting underserved communities is part of how we show up and stay connected to the realities around us. We believe every child deserves the freedom to play, laugh, and simply be a child — and being at the holdbodí Community Outreach today reinforces our commitment to consistently lending a hand where it’s needed.”

Originally designed as a Children’s Day feeding initiative focused on underserved children, the outreach evolved organically throughout the day in response to realities encountered across different communities.

While hundreds of children were reached across the locations visited, food support was also extended to market women, commercial riders, and other residents encountered during distribution.

Commenting the COO of FAE Envelopes, Adeleke Adeleye, who was also present at the distribution, said that, “At FAE Envelopes, we recognise the importance of proper nutrition in the growth and development of children. We are proud to support an initiative that contributes meaningfully to their well-being and future.”

Also, Brand and Marketing Manager at SRS Collection, Uche Olise, stated that, “At SRS Collection, we believe strong communities are built through meaningful acts of care and connection. Supporting this Children’s Day outreach reflects our commitment to giving back and contributing to the well-being and happiness of children within our communities.”

For the CEO of Poshfield, Francis Ajilore, “At Poshfield, we believe every child deserves a safe, happy space to grow, dream, and shine. Contributing to this outreach was our way of showing up for that belief.”

According to Abiola Akinyemi, Founder of holdbodí, holdbodi was created to make food access easier, and this outreach reminded us that food access remains an everyday reality for many people.

“What started as a Children’s Day outreach became a wider moment of community support across Lagos. Over the past year, holdbodí has worked to improve food access through flexible payment options, personal food shopping, and community-centered support initiatives. The Children’s Day outreach marks the debut activation of holdbodí Community Support — an arm of the platform focused on connecting people willing to help with communities where support is needed most. holdbodí expressed gratitude to all supporting six brands, volunteers, and 51 individual contributors who made the outreach possible,” Akinyemi said.
