Lamai Submits Nomination Forms For Etsako Federal Constituency House of Representatives Race
The leading aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for Etsako Federal Constituency, Chief Richard Lamai, popularly known as Gbukpegbu Onalo, has officially submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
Lamai completed the submission on May 5, 2026, in compliance with the APC deadline for the return of forms, describing the milestone as “a decisive step towards actualising my aspiration of creating sustainable employment opportunities for the teeming population of qualified youths across Etsako.”
Speaking with journalists shortly after the submission, Lamai reaffirmed that job creation remains the central pillar of his legislative blueprint for Etsako Federal Constituency.
“Etsako must be heard in Abuja. Representation is not merely about occupying a seat; it is about activating influence,” he stated.
“My mission is to translate presence into performance by leveraging policy knowledge and strategic networks in Abuja to ensure Etsako receives its fair share of federal opportunities.”
Strategic engagement with Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to secure employment opportunities for qualified youths and graduates from Etsako in the federal civil service and parastatals.
Establishment of ward-based skills acquisition centres and structured support systems for small and medium-scale enterprises, artisans, and farmers to drive self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
Facilitation of access to federal grants, modern farming tools, and capacity-building support to transform Etsako into a major agricultural hub, enhance food security, and create rural employment.
Lamai emphasized that his commitment to Etsako predates his political ambition. Through the Emike Richard Lamai Foundation he has delivered impactful interventions including provision of boreholes, educational support through school fee assistance, and healthcare outreach for mothers and children across the constituency.
“I am committed to aligning our collective potentials with purposeful representation. We are building an employable pipeline through education and skills development, and using federal access to secure placements. Jobs. Enterprise. Economic dignity. Because dignity begins with opportunity,”
He called on party leaders, stakeholders, youths, women groups, market associations, professionals, and community leaders across Etsako to support his aspiration for purposeful and results-driven representation that reflects the needs and aspirations of the people.
According to political observers, stakeholders, and opinion moulders, Lamai, who also contested in the previous primary election, is widely regarded as a strong contender for the APC ticket for Etsako Federal Constituency, comprising Etsako East, Etsako West, and Etsako Central Local Government Areas.
