Vocal Coach Addresses vocal Gap with new Solution
Tosin Clegg
Gospel recording artiste and vocal coach,Naomi Onorakposeha Oruaro, aka Naomi Classik, has developed a proprietary gospel-industry voice development solution to evaluate gospel vocal performance.
The innovation, the Gospel Voice Development Index™️ (GVDI™️) is a structured assessment designed to evaluate gospel vocal performance, ministry expression, and developmental readiness in a more professional and measurable way.
According to Naomi Clasik,it helps move gospel voice evaluation beyond casual opinion, emotional reaction, or raw talent alone. Rather, it provides a clearer framework for understanding how a singer is performing across core areas such as vocal technique, tone, interpretation, gospel style, spiritual communication, stage effectiveness, and coachability.
‘In simple terms, GVDI™️ is built to assess not just whether someone can sing, but whether their voice is being developed in a way that is strong, authentic, disciplined, and ministry-ready.’ She pointed out.
The vocal coach who has provided vocal and professional choir training for choir leaders and music teams across multiple churches and ministries in the United States, the United Kingdom and Africa, says the GVDI™️ gives singers, coaches, ministries, choirs, and organizations a more objective basis for growth and decision-making. ‘It helps identify strengths that should be preserved, weaknesses that need attention, and the next steps required for improvement. For some, it may confirm readiness for greater ministry or performance opportunities. For others, it may reveal technical, stylistic, or developmental gaps that have been holding them back. The assessment is suitable for gospel artists, choir members, worship leaders, ministry singers, vocal students, and talent candidates,’ she noted
GVDI, she said can be administered by qualified evaluators such as gospel music directors, choir directors, vocal coaches, producers, vocal faculty, competition judges, and recognized worship leaders.
‘After taking the assessment, participants should expect more than just a score. They should expect a clearer understanding of where they currently stand, what areas need focused development, and what strengths already make them valuable in gospel music and ministry settings. A good GVDI™️ outcome should provide direction, not confusion. The assessment is not meant to embarrass people or flatter them. It is meant to give honest insight that can lead to stronger performance, deeper ministry expression, and more intentional vocal growth over time.’ She emphasized
