From Classroom Performances to Studio Sessions: The Early Career of Skeng We$
By Sunday Aderin
Long before stepping into a professional studio, Skeng We$ was already performing. His journey began with rap performances at school events and creative hobbies like drawing comics, which helped shape his storytelling ability.
His first studio experience in 2021, while recording Flex/Power, was both nerve-wracking and exciting. It marked the transition from amateur recordings to professional production and solidified his decision to take music seriously.
Inspired by artists such as Wizkid and Burna Boy, Skeng We$ envisions himself touring globally within the next five years and collaborating with some of Nigeria’s biggest names, including Rema and Bella Shmurda.
