ISIS Models Africa Sustains Global Dominance with Strong African Presence Across Major Fashion Capitals
ISIS Models Africa has continued to reinforce its position as one of the continent’s most influential modeling agencies, sustaining a strong and consistent presence on the global fashion stage with African models featured prominently across major international fashion capitals including Milan, New York, Paris, and London.
In a statement, it was noted that at a time when diversity, inclusion, and authentic representation have become central to global fashion conversations, the agency has emerged as a leading force driving the visibility and acceptance of African talent across some of the world’s most prestigious runways.
The statement also noted that the agency was founded in 2008 by renowned Nigerian fashion entrepreneur Mrs. Joan Okorodudu, ISIS Models Africa has evolved from a local talent management outfit into a globally respected institution with a solid footprint across international fashion markets.
Through strategic partnerships with leading agencies in Milan, London, Paris, and New York, as well as long-standing collaborations with Studio 24 and Select Model Management globally, the agency has established structured pathways that enable African models to access global opportunities and build sustainable careers.
Speaking on the agency’s growth and global impact, Okorodudu noted that the journey has been driven by a clear vision to elevate African talent to the highest levels of the fashion industry.
“From the very beginning, our mission has been to ensure that African models are not just seen, but respected and celebrated on the global stage. We are intentional about preparing our talents to compete internationally, and today, the results speak for themselves,” she said.
Widely regarded as one of the agencies with the highest number of working Black models internationally, ISIS Models Africa has consistently demonstrated a deliberate commitment to expanding representation and redefining global beauty standards. This influence is increasingly evident in the growing number of African models featured in high-profile runway shows, editorial campaigns, and global brand activations.
At major fashion weeks in Milan and New York, two of the most competitive fashion capitals in the world, models from ISIS Models Africa have continued to command attention across both haute couture and ready-to-wear showcases. Their strong presence reflects not only aesthetic diversity but also the rising recognition of African talent as an integral part of the global fashion ecosystem.
Okorodudu emphasized that the agency’s success is rooted in discipline, training, and global readiness.
“We don’t just discover talents; we invest in them. We train them, expose them, and connect them to the right platforms globally. Our goal is to build models who can sustain long-term international careers, not just seasonal appearances,” she added.
Beyond the runway, ISIS Models Africa has also played a critical role in positioning African models for editorial and commercial success. Models from the agency have featured in leading international fashion publications, including covers of globally recognized magazines such as Vogue, as well as major advertising campaigns and luxury brand endorsements.
Isis Models Africa remains the leading modelling agency out of the continent of Africa, evidenced by the impressive number of its models featured across major international fashion weeks and high-profile global campaigns. This consistent presence on the world stage reflects Isis Models’ strong commitment to excellence, talent development, and global competitiveness.
Through its flagship initiative, Africa’s Next Super Model, the agency continues to redefine talent discovery and development across the continent. In partnership with Select Model Management—its global partner on Africa’s biggest model search and under the leadership of its distinguished Chief Executive Officer, Matteo Puglisi, this collaboration has become a powerful bridge between Africa and the international modeling industry, creating unprecedented opportunities for emerging models across the continent.
In recognition of her contributions, Joan Okorodudu, in 2024, received the lifetime achievement award under President Joe Biden. The prestigious Lifetime Presidential Award received on October 7, 2024, was a result of her steadfast devotion to promoting African artists, culture, and fashion, as well as her support of the Kakuma Refugee camp and young women.
A cornerstone of the agency’s talent pipeline is its flagship initiative, Africa’s Next Super Model, widely regarded as Africa’s biggest model search platform. The initiative has served as a Launchpad for numerous models who have transitioned from local visibility to international acclaim, securing contracts with global agencies and walking for top designers across Europe and North America.
According to Mrs. Okorodudu, the initiative reflects a broader commitment to creating opportunities across Africa.
“Africa is filled with incredible, untapped talent. Through Africa’s Next Super Model, we are giving young people from different backgrounds the opportunity to be seen, to be trained, and to access global platforms that can transform their lives,” she said.
Her impact on the global fashion ecosystem also extends into international collaborations and philanthropic initiatives. Through the Runways to Freedom Foundation, supported by major sponsorship from Design Essentials USA, the agency has continued to drive empowerment and opportunity for emerging talents.
Additionally, Okorodudu played a pivotal role in raising €100,000 for Vogue Talent for Africa, with €70,000 contributed by Access Bank and a €30,000 personal seed fund from her company, International Business Consortium Nigeria Limited, paid to Vogue Italia.
She also served as a judge in the competition, which produced Laduma from South Africa as the winner.
Reflecting on these milestones, she reaffirmed her commitment to advancing African representation globally.
“We are not just building models; we are building global citizens and opportunities. Every platform we create is designed to open doors for Africa and ensure our talents are competing at the highest levels anywhere in the world,” she stated.
Despite her remarkable achievements, Okorodudu’s journey has also been marked by personal resilience. Following the loss of her husband, Air Vice Marshal Omatsola Terry Okorodudu, who was instrumental to the success of ISIS Models Africa and her other business ventures, she has taken on the responsibility of consolidating family and business interests. These include Centurion Securities, Kokotie Realty, and International Business Consortium, now under the leadership of her son as Chairman, while she continues to serve as President of the companies.
Speaking on her continued drive and vision, especially as she approaches her 68th birthday, Okorodudu made it clear that her journey is far from over.
“I am just getting started. There is still so much to do for Africa, for young people, and for the global recognition of our talent. We will continue to raise the bar and push even further,” she said.
Importantly, the agency’s impact extends beyond fashion into social transformation. ISIS Models Africa has maintained a strong commitment to inclusivity by discovering and nurturing talents from diverse and often underrepresented backgrounds, including individuals from underserved communities and refugee populations. This approach has not only created career pathways but has also contributed to reshaping narratives around access, opportunity, and African excellence.
Industry stakeholders increasingly recognize ISIS Models Africa not just as a modeling agency, but as a cultural bridge connecting Africa to the global fashion narrative. By consistently producing world-class talent and facilitating international exposure, the agency has helped redefine perceptions of African beauty, professionalism, and competitiveness within a highly demanding industry.
As global fashion continues to evolve, the presence of African models is becoming more prominent and influential. ISIS Models Africa remains at the forefront of this transformation, reinforcing its leadership through sustained participation in major fashion events and continued investment in talent development across the continent.
“The world is beginning to understand that African talent is not a trend, it is the future. We are proud to be part of that movement and will continue to push boundaries until African models take their rightful place at the very top of the global fashion industry,” Okorodudu stated.
With a proven track record in discovery, training, and international placement, ISIS Models Africa is not only maintaining its position as a market leader but also setting the pace for the next generation of African models.
As the spotlight continues to shine on the world’s biggest runways, from Milan to New York and beyond, one thing is increasingly clear: African models are no longer on the margins of global fashion.
Through institutions like ISIS Models Africa, they are now at the center, shaping the industry and redefining its future.
