Oshanugor, whose first book, Terrorism: The Nigeria Experience (1995–1998), was published in 2004, has spent about 30 years in active journalism with a specialisation in crime reporting. He is also experienced in security-related journalism, having published Security Express magazine for seven years.
Speaking on the significance of the publication, Nnadozie said the book is a product of Oshanugor’s active years in journalism, particularly in crime reporting.
He added that the book would serve as a valuable resource for students of Mass Communication in tertiary institutions, offering insights into the history of the media generally and crime reporting in particular.
A graduate of the University of Port Harcourt, Oshanugor holds a Master of Science degree in Political Science from the University of Lagos and a Diploma in Mass Communication from Auchi Polytechnic.
In the security field, he is a designated Certified Protection Officer from the International Foundation for Protection Officers, Miami, Florida, in the United States of America.
He began his journalism career as a reporter with the Post Express newspaper, where he rose to the position of Deputy News Editor before leaving to pursue other interests in the media space.
Beyond authoring books, Oshanugor’s company has, over the years, published several works for other authors, with him serving as the Chief Executive Officer.
