Safety For Every Girl (SFEG) has announced that the 2026 period summit will take place on March 13, 2026, in Lagos.

With the theme: ‘#HerSafetyHerPower’, the second edition of the world’s first-ever period summit will expand the conversation on women’s safety by bringing together leaders in the media, advocacy, and youth engagement.

Among those to headline the highlight of the event, an exclusive Keynote Fireside Chat, include cinematic powerhouse, Ruth Kadiri, who will join a deep-dive conversation to be moderated by SFEG Founder, Chioma Nwigwe.

The organisers said the session would explore ‘The Narrative Frontier’, dissecting how storytelling and media can be leveraged as strategic tools to challenge the architecture of silence surrounding women’s safety. The summit will feature a formidable intergenerational line-up, including executive coaches Laila St. Matthew-Daniel and Dr. Glory Edozien, as well as cultural catalysts Beauty Tukura and Alex Unusual. Strategic insights will be shared by Olori Coitus, Elizabeth Osho, and Chimezie Arogundade, with fresh perspectives from teenage trailblazers Simisola Gbadamosi and Angel-Divine Onyebuchi.

According to Chioma Nwigwe, the founder of SFEG, “Safety is not a luxury; it is a fundamental right that dictates the stability of our nation. With this summit, we are moving beyond awareness and into action. By bringing together visionary storytellers like Ruth Kadiri and a media leader like Chude Jideonwo, we are creating a national platform where Nigerian women can speak openly about safety and help shape the solutions. When we protect the girl, we secure the future.”

Adding to the intellectual rigor of the day, renowned media icon,  Jideonwo, will serve as juror for the National Inter-School Debate, to be joined by global teen tech-advocate, Mojoyinoluwa Adeshina, as well as Managing Partner at KON Associates and Head of Legal at SFEG, Uju Okafor.

The organisers noted that together, they will evaluate student solutions for national safety before presenting the N1,250,000 prize pool to the winners of the #HerSafetyHerPower National Storytelling Competition.
