YellowSisi Marketplace has launched a new pan-African campaign, #ACT4HER/#CelebrateHerHairitage, aimed at spotlighting the significant cultural and economic contributions of Afro-Hairitage communities.

The initiative is in sync with this year’s global International Women’s Day (INC) 2026, with the theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls,” by focusing on the women entrepreneurs, stylists, and creators who drive innovation within the natural hair economy.

The CEO of Culture Money Afrika, Victor Agih explained that YellowSisi positions hair culture not merely as personal expression, but as a living cultural industry that sustains millions of livelihoods across the continent and its diaspora.

He added that recognising cultural production as enterprise opens pathways for inclusive growth.

The campaign, Agih noted, would utilise storytelling and cultural programming to highlight how women-led hair enterprises generate employment and foster community leadership.

He stressed that the goal is to transform natural hair into a recognised “cultural commodity ecosystem” where heritage meets commerce.

“Afro-Hairitage communities represent one of the most vibrant intersections of culture, creativity, and enterprise,” said Kelechi Yibo-Koko, CEO of YellowSisi Marketplace.

“Women are the custodians of this knowledge. Through #CelebrateHerHairitage, we are building systems where their contributions are visible, valued, and supported.”

The campaign links cultural celebration with tangible economic participation through initiatives like healthcare wallets and tourism gift cards.

By framing hair culture as a driver of diversity, diplomacy, and sustainable growth, YellowSisi aims to mobilize a continent-wide network of “Hairitage Envoys” to champion inclusive economic development for all women.
