APC aspirants Oyiborume, Alancha consult Uba Michael ahead of nat’l convention
Two prominent aspirants vying for key national positions in the All Progressives Congress (APC) paid a courtesy visit to influential party leader Chief Uba Michael on Thursday to seek his blessing and support ahead of the party’s forthcoming National Convention.
Hon. Paul Oyiborume, a candidate for the position of National Secretary, and Hon. Dominic Alancha Paul, aspiring for the role of National Publicity Secretary, met with Chief Uba Michael in a closed-door consultation aimed at consolidating support within the party’s rank and file.
The visit, described by sources close to the aspirants as part of a broader nationwide engagement with stakeholders, underscores the strategic lobbying and coalition-building now underway as APC leaders prepare for the critical convention that will elect new national officers.
During the meeting, the aspirants presented their vision for revitalizing the party’s administrative and communication structures, emphasizing unity, transparency, and grassroots mobilization in line with the Renewed Hope agenda.
Chief Uba Michael, a respected figure in the APC, warmly received the duo. He appreciated their courtesy visit and expressed confidence in their capabilities, wishing them success as they continue consultations with other party stakeholders across the country.
“I thank you for this visit and wish you well in your engagements,” Chief Michael reportedly told the aspirants, encouraging them to maintain the spirit of inclusivity and dedication that has defined the party’s growth.
The courtesy call forms part of ongoing efforts by aspirants to secure endorsements from party elders, governors, former officials, and influential leaders ahead of the convention date. With the APC seeking to strengthen its internal cohesion and prepare for future electoral battles, such consultations are seen as vital to building consensus and ensuring a smooth leadership transition.
Both Oyiborume and Alancha Paul are expected to intensify their outreach in the coming weeks, engaging more stakeholders to present their manifestos and rally support for their respective bids.
