Legalisation.ng Introduces Digital Helpdesk to Support Students on Federal Education ESS Portal
Abuja, Nigeria – February 17, 2026 – Legalisation.ng has launched a 2026 Digital Helpdesk aimed at assisting Nigerian students and graduates navigating the Federal Government’s newly introduced Educational Support Services (ESS) Digital Portal.
The initiative follows the January 12, 2026 directive by the Federal Ministry of Education mandating that all academic credential authentication be processed through its ESS online platform. The reform marks one of the most significant overhauls of Nigeria’s document authentication framework in more than two decades.
While the transition has been described by stakeholders as a major step toward strengthening the integrity of Nigeria’s academic certification system and reducing fraud, applicants have reported widespread technical and procedural challenges since the portal became operational.
According to Legalisation.ng, inquiries from students and graduates increased significantly after the portal launch, with common complaints including payment confirmation errors, verification token delays, document upload rejections due to formatting requirements, and mismatches in O’Level and degree certificate submissions.
The new Digital Helpdesk is designed to provide structured guidance on account registration, document uploads, payment verification, and compliance with portal requirements. It also offers clarification on related authentication processes involving agencies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Population Commission, particularly in cases requiring verification tokens for birth and statutory documents.
Industry observers note that Nigeria’s document authentication landscape has become increasingly digitized, with multiple government portals now involved in the verification chain. The ESS system requires applicants to complete digital verification before proceeding to further authentication stages, including submissions to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Legalisation.ng stated that the helpdesk will operate through phone, email, live chat, and messaging platforms to provide real-time responses to applicants experiencing portal-related issues. The organization said the service is intended to bridge information gaps created during the rapid transition to a fully digital system.
The launch comes amid growing demand for authenticated academic credentials by Nigerians seeking international education, professional licensing, and migration opportunities. Analysts say improved public orientation and technical guidance will be critical to ensuring the success of the government’s digital authentication reform.
Legalisation.ng is a document authentication and legalisation service provider based in Abuja, Nigeria. The organization works with individuals and institutions requiring authentication of academic and statutory documents for domestic and international use.
