These moves signaled a major infrastructure boost for the opposition ADC in Anambra, as prominent party leaders and members thronged the flag-off ceremony in large numbers, amid pomp and pageantry.

Williams, who is also a stalwart of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the state, was joined by the state chairman, Hon. Patrick Obianyo, alongside other party executives at the state, local government, and ward levels, on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the flag-off ceremony to cut the ribbons in Abacha; Eziowelle; Abatete; Uke; Nkpor 1; Oraukwu; Ideani; Ojoto; Awka Etiti 1; Awka Etiti 2;

Others includes, Nnobi 1; Nnobi 2; Nnobi 3; and Nnokwa wards in Idemili North and South axis.

The newly commissioned party offices, however, cut across seven wards in Idemili South axis and nine wards in Idemili North axis, respectively.

According to the party stalwart, the remaining nine ward offices, would be commissioned in due course.

Speaking at the event, the Abacha-born business development expert affirmed that he is committed to transformative leadership and improved grassroots development, adding that the newly commissioned ward offices will ensure optimal operation of the party activities within the federal constituency.

He disclosed that the newly commissioned sixteen party offices in Idemili North and South federal constituency were part of his personal contributions towards the advancement of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) structures in the state.

Famed for leading the recent defection of over 250 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Williams reassured party leaders of his unwavering commitment to real-time human capital development and transformative leadership.

He further stressed that improving grassroots politics through dedicated party structures would bring genuine development to the grassroots and benefit the constituency.

“In January, I officially joined the ADC in my ancestral home, Abacha ward in Idemili North Local Government, with over 250 supporters from our former party, PDP. At that time, I donated to formally register my political family in the ADC membership structure and pledged to further strengthen our support base in Idemili North and South, as well as Anambra Central Senatorial Zone.

“That is why, today, I am pleased to facilitate the procurement of our party offices across the 24 wards in Idemili North and South Federal Constituency. These party offices would subsequently be equipped with needed facilities in order to ensure optimal operation and spread the ADC activities to the nooks and crannies of our beloved zone. I am most proud to join our esteemed party leaders, women, and youth groups, to drive positive change and give a new life to our cherished political platform,” he said.

For his part, the Anambra ADC State Chairman, Hon. Patrick Obianyo, commended the party stalwart for his giant strides, stressing that such gestures would garner organic support from the grassroots and give the ADC the momentum needed for membership mobilization.

He said, “Today, it gives me great joy to witness a historic moment as one of our illustrious sons in Idemili North axis fulfilling his pledge of donating 24 well-equipped ward offices for our great party, the African Democratic Congress. Incidentally, we are kicking off in Abacha, which is his hometown. This is a very significant moment for us as we gather here today. Indeed, charity begins at home. What we are doing today is the beginning of a greater good grassroots for our party as ADC set out for membership mobilization.”

Also in his remarks, the state chairman expressed optimism in the party’s chance of emerging victorious in the 2027 polls even as it seeks to consolidate its structure from the grassroots.

“The rate at which we are going today, Anambra ADC is gearing towards building a formidable structure at the grassroots level to be able to get going and ensure that 2027 becomes a year of victory for us. We are getting prepared for the election,” Obianyo affirmed.

To further consolidate on the membership mobilization effort, Williams announced the donation of over 2000 campaign items, including customized T-shirts, caps, and banners, to support the ADC activities in the axis.

Also speaking, the Anambra  ADC state women leader, Mrs Amaka Obifuna, dismissed viral claims that the party lacked structure to contest forthcoming elections in the state, describing the commissioning exercise as a significant ‘milestone’ for the party.

“We are opening ADC offices in Idemili North and South, which is a milestone because some are saying ADC has no structure, but with what is happening today, you see that we have structure and ADC is moving. Anambra State is moving; we are on the right side,” she said.

Similarly, the ADC youth leader for Idemili North, Hon. Arinze Chukwu-Okoye, highlighted the unifying significance of the newly commissioned party offices, calling on Ndi Anambra to take on their ADC membership at their respective ward level.

“We are very happy because this will serve as a way of uniting the disarrayed members of ADC. For those who want to join ADC, come in now, register with the party, and be prepared for the forthcoming elections,” he said.

Chukwu-Okoye, while describing the ADC as a ‘moving train’ set to take over elective positions in the country at local, state, and federal levels, urged members to remain united and prepare for the 2027 elections.

“The important thing is not just to register but to be prepared for the forthcoming election. ADC is a moving train that would rescue Nigeria from its current worrying state. We are taking over the leadership of the country, at the local, state, and federal levels,” he added.

Several women and youth groups, including party stalwarts and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) across the twenty-four political wards in Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, graced the colorful event, marking the beginning of a new era in the history of the opposition party in Anambra state.
