Izik Erikemu Launches Speak With Impact Tour to Empower African Youth

The Speak With Impact Tour has officially been launched, with a mission to address one of the most overlooked barriers limiting young Africans from accessing life-changing opportunities effective communication.

Designed to close the gap between talent and visibility, the tour is set to take high-level communication training to underserved cities and emerging youth hubs, where access to professional development remains limited.

According to the Izik Erikemu Principal Consultant at The 5th Advisory Ltd, the initiative was inspired by his personal experience, who recalled a defining moment during a university group presentation that exposed how poor communication can undermine even the most prepared minds.

“That moment was a turning point for me,” Izik said. “It made me realize that the challenge many people face is not a lack of ideas, intelligence, or preparation, but a lack of communication clarity and confidence. Speak With Impact was born from a desire to bridge a gap I once lived through.”

The tour is focused on tackling what it describes as the “missing link” across Africa’s professional and entrepreneurial ecosystem. While technical skills and creativity are abundant, many young people struggle to clearly articulate their value in interviews, business pitches, leadership spaces, and public forums.

By targeting young professionals, students, and creatives especially those outside major urban centres the initiative aims to ensure that location no longer determines access to influence and opportunity.

Speaking further on the approach of the programme, Izik noted that the tour prioritises practicality over theory, offering culturally relevant training that reflects everyday communication challenges faced by African youths.

“Speak With Impact is highly practical and community-driven,” Izik explained. “It goes beyond theory to focus on real-life communication scenarios. The tour model allows us to meet people where they are, rather than expecting them to come to traditional learning hubs.”

Unlike conventional leadership programmes, the sessions focus on real-world applications such as job interviews, investor pitching, workplace communication, and community leadership, making the learning immediately useful for participants.

Despite facing logistical and funding challenges in organising a multi-city tour planned for 2026, the organisers say early results have been encouraging, with participants already reporting improved confidence and increased leadership opportunities after attending the sessions.

Looking ahead, the Speak With Impact Tour is expected to evolve into a broader pan-African platform, combining physical tours with digital learning, mentorship, and long-term leadership development.

“The long-term vision is to build Speak With Impact into a platform that empowers voices and shapes confident leaders across the continent,” Izik concluded. “In a world where attention is currency, no one’s voice should be diminished simply because they were never taught how to speak with impact.”
