Abuja, Nigeria – In a night that etched excellence into the annals of African achievement, Engr. Dr. Abubakar Rahmat Salihu, the trailblazing Head of Agric and Water Resources at BPP, stood shoulder-to-shoulder with icons like Tony Elumelu as they received top honors at the Africa Intercontinental Conference and Global Awards, hosted by Africa Intercontinental Network at Transcorp Hilton Abuja on December 6th. The star-studded ceremony, a confluence of innovation and inspiration, crowned these luminaries for their transformative impact.

Engr. Dr. Abubakar, a force in procurement and robotics advocacy, has driven change through strategic leadership and passion for STEM education. With a B.Eng from Uni Ilorin, MSc from Uni Salford, and a PhD candidate at Uni Gloucestershire, his expertise spans engineering, procurement, and policy-making. As BPP’s Head of Agric and Water Resources, he champions transparency and value-for-money, while mentoring youth in robotics – a field he’s propelled Nigerian teams to international competitions.

“This recognition is for Nigeria, for STEM, for every child coding their future,” he said, beaming with pride. His accolades include Fellowships with NIProcE and NSE, alongside roles in shaping Nigeria’s e-GP systems.
