Njiko Aniocha-Oshimili to Host Landmark Summit on Security, Development, Others On December 29

A major socio-political and cultural summit aimed at addressing insecurity, economic development and cultural preservation in Aniocha-Oshimili land is set to hold on Monday, December 29, 2025, in Asaba, Delta State.

The summit, convened by Njiko Aniocha-Oshimili,(a socio-cultural organization) will take place at 12:00 noon at the Asagba Conference Centre (Ogwa-Ukwu Ahaba), Asaba, and is expected to draw traditional rulers, political leaders, academics, security experts, professionals and stakeholders from across Aniocha-Oshimili communities.

With the theme “Unity, Development and Security: Unifying, Developing and Securing the Vision, Aspirations and Future of Aniocha-Oshimili People,” the gathering is designed to serve as a strategic platform for collective dialogue on the region’s pressing challenges and future prospects.

The summit will have His Royal Majesty, the Asagba of Asaba, Prof. Epiphany Azinge, as Chief Host, while royal fathers from across Aniocha-Oshimili are expected to grace the occasion, underscoring the cultural and traditional significance of the event.

Speaking on the objective of the summit, the organisers noted that the initiative seeks to foster unity among Aniocha-Oshimili people, promote sustainable development strategies, and strengthen security consciousness in the face of emerging socio-economic and security challenges within the region.

The event will feature high-profile speakers, including Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, Vice-Chancellor of Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State; Hon. Bridget Anyafulu, Member of the Delta State House of Assembly; and Chief Mike Ejiofor, a former Director, Department of State Services (DSS) and renowned security expert.

The speakers are expected to provide insights on governance, development, security architecture and the role of leadership in building a resilient Aniocha-Oshimili society.

The summit will be moderated by Prof. Anthony Iweka, while Arc. Kester Ifeadi is Chairman of the Planning Committee with Engr. Igwe Enuoyibo as the Host. Enuiyibo has described the summit as a “critical step toward forging a united front for progress, peace and prosperity in Aniocha-Oshimili land.”
Stakeholders believe the outcomes of the summit will help shape actionable strategies and collaborative frameworks that will drive long-term development, strengthen communal bonds and enhance security across Aniocha-Oshimili communities.
