The New Yam Music Festival, NYMF, 2025 – Iri Ji Grand Finale brought the harvest season in Enugu to a colourful close, as culture, music and modern production came together in what organisers described as a “world-class cultural spectacle.”
According to the organisers, NYMF 2025 was designed to promote unity, abundance and cultural pride, while providing a platform for young people to connect with, preserve and reinterpret African traditions in ways that resonate with today’s realities.
Owned and curated by Heritage & Culture Africa, the festival blended tradition with contemporary expression, creating an immersive celebration of African heritage that engaged audiences across generations.
“NYMF 2025 showed that culture thrives when it evolves in ways that resonate with today’s youth,” the organisers said.
To deliver a globally competitive experience, BigSea Promotions served as the official production partner, translating ancestral heritage into a modern, immersive festival. The event featured large-scale stage architecture, high-definition LED visuals, immersive lighting, premium sound engineering and performances that seamlessly blended cultural storytelling with contemporary music.
“BigSea Promotions exceeded expectations in every aspect of production,” Heritage & Culture Africa said. “Their expertise turned cultural narratives into a premium live experience, showcasing the potential of Nigerian festivals on a global stage.”
Beyond entertainment, the festival placed strong emphasis on community engagement and social responsibility. In the days leading up to the grand finale, organisers distributed 1,000 tubers of yam to motherless babies’ homes and local market communities across Enugu State, reflecting the festival’s ethos of sharing abundance with vulnerable members of society.
“Celebration is meaningful when it touches the community,” the organisers added.
Heritage & Culture Africa also highlighted the festival’s growing potential as a platform for government and brand partnerships, noting that NYMF 2025 demonstrates how cultural events can drive youth engagement, boost tourism and stimulate economic growth while preserving cultural identity.
As the festival drew to a close, the organisers said NYMF 2025 had firmly established itself as the Grand Finale of the Iri Ji season, successfully merging culture, music, fashion and community impact.
“With Heritage & Culture Africa’s leadership and BigSea Promotions’ production excellence, African cultural festivals are now positioned to be relevant, sustainable and globally recognised,” the statement said.
