Charity Organisation Provides Food, Medical Aid at IDP Camp
Residents of the Durumi Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Abuja have received humanitarian assistance from Green Circuit Association International following an outreach organized to support displaced families.
The outreach, which took place yesterday, provided food items, medical services, and educational materials to hundreds of camp residents, including children, nursing mothers, and the elderly.
Speaking during the event, the International President of Green Circuit Association International, Comr. O. N. Iguodala, said the outreach was part of the organization’s commitment to supporting vulnerable and displaced communities.
He noted that many families in the camp have lost their homes and means of livelihood due to conflict and displacement, adding that the intervention was aimed at easing their hardship and reassuring them that they are not forgotten.
Some beneficiaries described the support as timely. The women leader at the camp, Aisha Malami, said food had been scarce in recent weeks and expressed gratitude to the organization for the assistance.
The camp administrator commended the charity group for the gesture and appealed to government agencies and other humanitarian organizations to continue supporting the camp to meet the growing needs of its residents.
