The Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation, Philippines (NIDOPHIL) has once again demonstrated its commitment to the welfare and empowerment of Nigerians in the Philippines. Under the leadership of Bishop Tony Marioghae, NIDOPHIL has been working tirelessly to promote unity, service, and measurable impact among its members.

One of the key highlights of NIDOPHIL’s recent activities was the celebration of its Thanksgiving and Christmas Celebration on December 13, 2025, which took place at the TEAM Convention Center in Las Piñas City, Metro Manila, and was attended by Nigerian professionals, community leaders, ethnic representatives, students, and distinguished Filipino guests.

During the celebration, NIDOPHIL formally presented its newly crafted Constitution to the General Assembly. The document was overwhelmingly ratified by members and subsequently signed into law by the NIDOPHIL leadership. This milestone achievement is a testament to the organization’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance.

In a bold and progressive move, NIDOPHIL announced and implemented a financial empowerment policy, awarding grants of One Hundred Thousand Pesos each to the four major regional associations in the Philippines. This initiative, valued at approximately two thousand United States dollars per group, is aimed at stimulating entrepreneurship among Nigerians in the Philippines.

NIDOPHIL’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerians in the Philippines extends beyond financial empowerment. The organization has been actively advocating for the rights and interests of its members, including their immigration and welfare rights. In the past year, NIDOPHIL has engaged in several media outreach programs, calling for the reconstruction of the Nigerian Embassy in the Philippines after a devastating fire in May 2024.

The organisation has also been working closely with the Embassy to address issues affecting Nigerians in the Philippines, including student-related challenges and unjust deportations. NIDOPHIL’s leadership has held multiple town hall meetings and general assemblies, funded entirely by the executive, to engage with members and address their concerns.

In addition to its advocacy work, NIDOPHIL has been promoting technological innovation and digital transformation. The organization has launched a world-class automated website and digital identity cards for registered members. These platforms enable seamless interaction, data management, and dues payment, making it easier for members to access NIDOPHIL’s services.

NIDOPHIL’s commitment to community development is also evident in its various initiatives, including campaigns against cult-related violence and drug offences. The organisation has also been providing support for Nigerian students in the Philippines, including interventions on visa renewals and conflict resolution within the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).

The Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Nigeria in the Philippines, Hon. Adeshina Edward Oloje, has commended NIDOPHIL’s leadership for its visionary leadership and commitment to the welfare of Nigerians in the Philippines. According to him, NIDOPHIL’s achievements are a testament to the organization’s dedication to promoting unity, service, and measurable impact among its members.

As NIDOPHIL continues to grow and expand its reach, its leadership and members remain committed to the organisation’s mission of promoting the welfare and empowerment of Nigerians in the Philippines. With its visionary leadership and commitment to excellence, NIDOPHIL is poised to achieve even greater things in the years to come.

In the words of Bishop Tony Marioghae, “Promises made, promises kept.” NIDOPHIL’s leadership and members are indeed keeping their promises to the Nigerian community in the Philippines, and their efforts are yielding positive results. As the organisation continues to soar to new heights, it is clear that NIDOPHIL will remain a shining example of diaspora leadership and empowerment for years to come
