LOUD Urban Choir Blends Christmas Music with Afro

This festive season, Africa’s holiday celebrations are set to get louder, brighter, and more unforgettable as LOUD Urban Choir takes centre stage with its groundbreaking Afro Christmas experience.

Blending rich choral harmonies with the infectious rhythms of Afrobeats, LOUD is redefining what it means to celebrate Christmas on the continent.

Founded by Ann Obaseki and powered by Talentville Africa, LOUD represents a bold new vision for African vocal performance. The choir was conceived to provide a professional platform for talented vocalists.

According to LOUD’s creative director, “This year, we are not just performing music, we are bringing Christmas home by blending African drums with global sounds. LOUD first made waves with their debut at Basketmouth’s Lord of the Ribs in 2019, performing before over 5,000 people. The choir instantly distinguished itself with dynamic choreography, polished harmonies and a unique Afro-urban identity, setting a new standard for ensemble performances across Africa. Since then, LOUD has inspired a wave of new urban choirs and firmly established itself as the original, authentic pioneer of this vocal movement.

The 2024/2025 holiday campaign, titled “The Year LOUD Stole Christmas,” is set to elevate festive entertainment to unprecedented heights. Its major live performance, the December Holiday Showcase at Eko Hotel, Lagos, will take place on December 22nd, 2025, delivering an immersive celebration of African music and festive culture. Through captivating stage presentations, an exclusive Christmas EP, engaging content and creative collaborations, LOUD aims to become the defining sound of Afro Christmas in Nigeria and beyond.

Beyond the music, LOUD is committed to building a new performance economy for vocalists. Under Talentville Africa, a team of vocal directors, arrangers, choreographers and performance strategists ensures that every member is supported professionally, creatively and artistically.
