2027: Tinubu Media Force Rallies Grassroots Media for President, Vows to Counter Misinformation

The Tinubu Media Force (TMF), a largest grassroots media organisation, has passed a vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging strong support for his administration and a renewed commitment to promoting the Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.

The National Coordinator of the TMF, Mr Gbenga Abiola, disclosed this at the Nigeria’s largest grassroots media summit on Dec. 16 in Abuja to help promote nation building through credible grassroots media.

According to him TMF has taken the bull by the horns in mobilising grassroots media communicators nationwide to counter misinformation and promote unity at the community level.

According to him, people at the grassroots deserve being fed with credible news for national unity and progress.

He said the summit brought together more than 1,000 grassroots media communicators and community-based media practitioners across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“We have absolute confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and in the direction he is taking Nigeria. Our mission is to take the Renewed Hope message to every corner of the country,” Abiola said.

He said the group would intensify strategic communication efforts to counter misinformation and false narratives capable of undermining public confidence in government.

“We are dedicated to countering fake news and fake posts that seek to undermine the progress of our great nation. We will work tirelessly to ensure that the President’s vision for a better Nigeria is realised,” he added.

Abiola, a former Sole Administrator of Agege Local Government, said the Tinubu Media Force was dedicated to amplifying the President’s vision in every community to foster hope, unity and national progress.

He also assured that the Tinubu Media Force would remain active in mobilising support for the President ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We are committed to mobilising Nigerians behind the President’s agenda and we will work assiduously to secure victory for President Tinubu in 2027,” he said.

Abiola stressed that effective grassroots communication remained essential for sustainable national progress.

He said participants engaged in strategic discussions and interactive sessions, which would equip practitioners with skills for informed public discourse.

He added that the summit underscored TMF’s commitment to building a coordinated grassroots media network.

Delivering the keynote address, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, Mr Otega Ogra, said the Tinubu administration had recorded notable progress, particularly in food and economic security.

“The food economic security level has been great, and this administration is laying a strong foundation that will benefit Nigerians across all sectors,” Ogra said.

He urged Nigerians to support government policies and programmes, stressing that national development required unity and collective responsibility.

“I advise Nigerians to come together and support the President’s agenda. If we become one, our country will move forward,” he said.

Ogra also emphasised the importance of responsible engagement in the digital space, noting that accurate information was vital to sustaining public trust.

“The digital space must be used to inform, educate and unite Nigerians, not to divide us or spread falsehoods,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, the National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Dayo Israel, commended the Tinubu Media Force for its role in promoting the President’s vision and policies.

“We appreciate the Tinubu Media Force for their dedication to promoting the President’s agenda. Your work has helped in projecting the Renewed Hope Agenda to Nigerians,” Israel said.

He pledged the party’s support and collaboration with the group to advance the administration’s objectives.

“We promise to work with the Tinubu Media Force to achieve our collective goals for Nigeria and to ensure that the Renewed Hope Agenda delivers tangible benefits to the people,” he said.

Israel stressed that youth participation remained central to the success of the administration’s programmes, urging young Nigerians to remain actively engaged.

“The energy, creativity and commitment of young Nigerians are critical to driving the President’s vision for a renewed Nigeria,” he said.

Participants at the event took turns to applaud the Tinubu Media Force for playing a significant role in countering misinformation and promoting factual narratives about government policies.

“The group has been consistent in ensuring that Nigerians receive accurate information about the activities of the government,” they said.

They noted that grassroots mobilisation and strategic communication would further strengthen public understanding of government initiatives.

The forum reaffirmed its readiness to expand its outreach nationwide and deepen engagement with citizens at the grassroots.

The event ended with a call for sustained collaboration among party stakeholders, media advocates and supporters of the administration
