Security forces, Friday, tracked down and neutralised a high‑profile bandit leader, Kachalla Na’Allah, linked to the notorious Ibrahim Chimmo network.

The 30‑year‑old was shot dead between the villages of Girnashe and Kuka Tara, in Tsabre Ward of Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto  State, after a swift interception by a combined team of Mobile Police, Community Guard operatives and Nigerian Army personnel.

According to a reliable source, who spoke to newsmen yesterday, the joint squad acted on fresh intelligence, ambushing Na’Allah as he moved through the remote stretch.

The source added that Na’Allah was a cousin of Ibrahim Chimmo, who commands a bandit network operating from the Sububu forest.

His elimination, the source said, “marks another step in disrupting the leadership and operational structure of banditry in the region.”

The success followed a similar breakthrough earlier this week when troops of the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army neutralised another bandit commander, Kachalla Kallamu, in Sabon Birni LGA. Both operations have drawn praise from state officials.

Special Adviser to Governor Ahmad Aliyu on Security Matters, Retired Colonel Ahmad Usman, commended the security agencies, stating that the “consistent progress” reflected the effectiveness of coordinated efforts and community cooperation.

Locals, while cautious, expressed relief at the news, noting that the loss of key figures like Na’Allah and Kallamu weakened Chimmo’s network and might ease the spate of kidnappings and raids that have plagued the area for months.
