As Lagos continues to take giants strides in business promotion, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu yesterday led dignitaries to inaugurate the TY Logistics Park at the Free Zone Enterprise (FZE).
The Logistics Part which is to service the Lekki Deep Sea Port is equipped with state-of-the-art logistics platform designed to strengthen trade flows and enhance supply chain operations across West Africa.
The project which is a brainchild of Nigeria’s former Chief of Army Staff, General T.Y. Danjuma (Rtd) will strengthen the nation’s logistics competitiveness and support regional trade.
“Today, that vision stands before us in the form of two world-class facilities with a combined 29,000 square metres of premium free zone space.
“We set out to redefine how goods move across Nigeria and West Africa, and this facility delivers exactly that.”
Sanwo-Olu said the logistics park currently offers contract logistics solutions to medium and large businesses across sectors including fast-moving consumer goods, electronics, automotive parts, pharmaceuticals, fashion and other high-velocity industries.
He said the park also provides full end-to-end supply chain services such as clearing and forwarding, compliance management, import and export processing, complex inventory management, value-added services and route-to-market distribution.
“Our smart digital ecosystem integrates global-standard systems and fully digitised logistics workflows, giving clients speed, accuracy and total supply chain visibility.
“This ensures real-time stock control, error-free order processing and transparency essential for products with shelf-life sensitivities,” he said.
The governor noted the facility’s location 20 minutes from the Lekki Deep Seaport positions it to support seamless import and export distribution, duty deferment, tax optimisation and enhanced access to West African markets.
He added the park was designed to operate as an extension of client businesses, enabling them to grow their brands, expand market share and optimise their operations.
“We take on the logistical complexities so our clients can focus on what truly matters growing their footprint and strengthening their brand,” he said.
The governor described the project as a testament to Africa’s growing capacity to build modern and globally competitive economic zones.
“Our vibrant ecosystem is redefining the quality and impact of African cities.
“The TY Logistics Park advances our shared vision of creating efficient, modern and globally relevant economic infrastructure that unleashes Africa’s economic potential,” he said.
He lauded the collaboration between Alaro City and the logistics company, noting the delivery of the project was a deeply rewarding and nationally significant assignment.
“We are proud to have contributed to a project of such purpose. May this development flourish, spread lasting value and open new chapters of prosperity for Nigeria and beyond,” he added.
He extended congratulations to the Danjuma’s and entire management team of TY logistics park, praising their commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s logistics architecture.
The governors of Lagos and Taraba states, traditional rulers from Lagos, Taraba and Gombe, as well as key private-sector stakeholders graced the occasion.
In his welcome address, Mr. Theo Danjuma Jr, the Chairman of TY Logistics Park, said the launch marked the fulfilment of a bold vision conceived four years ago when the company first invested in Alaro City to develop a purpose-built, grade-A logistics hub.
“It is important that we begin by thanking God Almighty for making today possible.
“Four years ago, TY Holdings committed to creating a logistics platform that would redefine the way goods move across Nigeria and West Africa. Today, that vision stands fully delivered,” he said.
Danjuma Jr. said the new facility comprised two world-class warehouses with a combined 29,000 square metres of premium free zone space, strategically designed to support high-volume industries and create a modern logistics backbone for the region.
“We are proud to present a facility that gives businesses the operational efficiency and supply chain visibility they need to expand,” he said.
He thanked guests, including the governors of Lagos and Taraba states, noting that their presence demonstrated strong support for private-sector-driven infrastructure.
“Your presence affirms the importance of this development, and we remain grateful for your encouragement and leadership.
“We see ourselves not just as a logistics provider, but as an extension of our clients’ business.
“Our role is to take on logistical complexities so they can focus on growth, market expansion and brand strengthening,” he said.
