The Women Maker Series (WMS) is set to return in March 2026 with an expanded mission that introduces a new digital marketplace and a global pre-event workshop, further strengthening its role in empowering women across Africa and beyond.

Following a successful inaugural edition in March 2025 that impacted over 1,000 women, WMS 2026 will be held under the theme Roots & Wings, reflecting its focus on building strong foundations while enabling women to scale their creative and entrepreneurial ambitions.

Founded by Winnie Okpapi, principal creative consultant at Eirini Creatives, the initiative has emerged as a practical empowerment platform that blends creativity, business development, healing, and community building.

The 2025 edition featured hands-on craft-making sessions, business clinics, therapy, funding opportunities, and community engagement.

Building on that momentum, the 2026 programme represents a new phase designed to translate empowerment into sustainable economic opportunities.

A major highlight of this year’s expansion is the launch of the WMS Marketplace, a curated two-week digital store that will showcase the work of selected women makers.

Open free of charge, the platform will enable participants to sell their products, gain global visibility, and connect directly with buyers, supporters, and potential partners.

Okpapi said the marketplace is intended to extend the impact of WMS beyond physical events by helping women earn, grow, and gain international recognition.

Ahead of the March convening, WMS will host a global pre-event workshop in January, an international online session focused on preparing and inspiring women across different regions.

The workshop will provide introductory business tools, creative demonstrations, and mindset coaching aimed at broadening the reach of the movement.

The March 2026 event will offer a multi-layered experience including enterprise clinics, creative maker labs, healing and wellbeing spaces, funding and pitch sessions, and dedicated networking and market-access zones.

Organisers have also called on corporate organisations, foundations, development institutions, and donors to partner with WMS as it expands to new African cities.
