The Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has flagged off 20.5-kilometre road projects in the Dutsi Local Government Area of the state to boost rural mobility and commercial activities in the area.
The rural renewal road projects comprising 3.5-kilometre township road and the 17-kilometre ring road connecting Saubashi–Shiyel–Munawa–Dan’aunai to Dutsi town, were awarded by the Dutsi Local Government Council.
While flagging off the feeder road projects, Governor Radda said the projects would improve farmers’ access to their farmlands and boost transportation of farm produce to nearby markets when completed.
He said the 20.5 kilometres road, which also connects Tashar Dan’aunai and Dodar communities, were designed to boost rural mobility and socio-economic activities in the local government.
He further noted that the Ingawa–Shargalle road remains “a transformative investment that continues to enhance connectivity in the zone”, adding that more projects will be executed by the government in the area.
Radda, however, promised to collaborate with the Dutsi Local Government Council to execute sustainable water projects in the area that will tackle the perennial water scarcity bedevilling residents.
Noting that providing potable water remains one of the core priorities of his administration, the governor reiterated his government’s unwavering commitment to taming challenges faced by rural communities.
He noted that the APC-led government in the state has awarded and completed numerous projects at state, local government and ward levels, adding that the government will continue to implement projects based on people’s needs.
In his opening remarks, the Executive Chairman of Dutsi Local Government, Abdulrazak Adamu Kayawa, expressed gratitude for the state government’s continued interventions, including the Shargalle–Ingawa Road and the newly flagged-off projects.
