Gloria Orji-Emodi Reflects on Journey in Shaping New Era of Creative Marketing, PR
By Salami Adeyinka
For over two decades, Gloria Orji-Emodi has commanded attention with her voice — first as a broadcaster in notable media houses such as Cosmo fm, Enugu; AIT/Raypower, DreamFm, Enugu, Roots Tv, Abuja and now as the creative force behind one of Abuja’s most promising advertising firms, Sapphire Advertising.
Today, as the Founder and Principal Consultant of Sapphire Advertising, Orji-Emodi is not just running a business; she’s shaping a philosophy — that every brand has a story worth telling, and the way it’s told determines how far it goes.
Her journey, from childhood appearances on NTA’s Junior Opinion to anchoring national shows and now leading a multidisciplinary team of young creatives, is one defined by transformation, vision, and purpose.
A New Chapter: The Birth of Sapphire Advertising
Founded with a clear mission — to help brands communicate with authenticity, clarity, and visual excellence — Sapphire Advertising reflects Gloria’s deep understanding of both message and medium.
“What we’re building is more than an agency,” she explains. “It’s a space where creativity meets character and consistency. We help clients bring out what they truly want to say — and say it beautifully.”
Sapphire Advertising offers end-to-end services in creative design, digital marketing, content development, social media management, corporate branding, and campaign strategy. It also combines business growth strategies and human resource management to deliver impeccable results to its clients.
Under Orji-Emodi’s leadership, the firm has quickly earned a reputation for executing relatable, impactful campaigns that drive results while maintaining originality and heart.
The Power of Reinvention
Long before she became the creative mind at Sapphire Advertising, Gloria Orji-Emodi was already a familiar name in media and communications.
Her career began at Cosmo FM Enugu in 2004 and grew through positions at AIT/Raypower, Dream FM and Roots TV Nigeria, where she interviewed political and business leaders across the country. She also had notable collaboration with international media platforms such as the BBC Media Trust, InterNews; Radio Netherlands among others.
She later expanded into human resources consulting earning certification from the London School of Business Administration and helping organisations build effective teams and policies.
This rare blend of storytelling and organisational insight now fuels Sapphire Advertising’s unique approach — blending media intelligence with people insight to craft campaigns that connect deeply with audiences.
Purpose Meets Passion
For Gloria, Sapphire Advertising isn’t just a business — it’s a mission to help individuals and brands show up authentically.
Her leadership style is collaborative and value-driven. She often tells her team, “We don’t just create ads; we create alignment — between what brands say and what people feel.”
It’s this perspective that makes Sapphire Advertising stand out in a crowded marketplace. Whether managing digital campaigns, producing corporate visuals, or advising on brand identity, the agency approaches every brief with the same question: “What emotion will this spark?”
Impact and Vision
Under Orji-Emodi’s direction, Sapphire Advertising has supported brands across sectors — from real estate and hospitality to fashion, media, and public service. The agency’s content strategy work and brand campaigns are earning recognition for their creativity and authenticity.
Beyond client work, Orji-Emodi is also passionate about mentoring young professionals. Through her initiative FabulosGloria Media Coaching Series, she trains upcoming media talents and entrepreneurs on confidence, storytelling, and content creation — extending Sapphire’s philosophy into personal branding.
Looking ahead, Orji-Emodi envisions Sapphire Advertising as a regional powerhouse — one that produces campaigns globally while retaining a distinctly Nigerian soul.
Asked what advice she has for emerging professionals, Gloria smiles: “Define your voice and guard your values. The world will always need new ideas, but it will never stop rewarding authenticity.”
Her story — from media girl to creative consultant, from anchoring the news to shaping narratives — is one of courage, adaptability, and staying power.
Through Sapphire Advertising, Orji-Emodi proves that creativity is not just about aesthetics — it’s about purpose, strategy, and the confidence to keep evolving.
“At Sapphire Advertising, we don’t chase trends; we build trust. We don’t just sell ideas — we sell belief in what a brand stands for.”
And with that belief, Orji-Emodi continues to redefine what it means to be fabulously creative in a world that never stops changing.
