African Food & Drinks Festival Lagos 2025: A Celebration of Food, Culture, and Community at Muri Okunola Park
Lagos came alive on Saturday, October 26, 2025, as the African Food & Drinks Festival (AFDF) brought thousands of people together at Muri Okunola Park for a full day of food, culture, and fun. The event, which drew over 4,000 attendees, turned the park into a melting pot of African flavors, sounds, and colors, proving once again why it remains one of the most anticipated cultural events in Nigeria.
From morning till night, the park was filled with the aroma of African delicacies and the laughter of food lovers exploring different stalls. Guests moved from one vendor to another, tasting jollof rice, suya, puff-puff, grilled seafood, and other continental favorites. It was more than a food event; it was a joyful reunion of cultures.
One of the biggest highlights was the Masterclass powered by Kiara Rice, hosted by the celebrity chef Omoye Cooks. The class pulled in a large audience eager to learn from her creative approach to African meals and her tips on modern home cooking.
Social media also played its part in making the event trend across Nigeria. The Influencers Eating Competition between Team Twitter NG and Team TikTok Nigeria created massive buzz online. On Team TikTok were viral food creators Mr Downloader and Francisca, while Team Twitter featured the popular food lover Ruth and social media personality Seun. Their hilarious contest kept fans talking and brought even more people to the festival grounds.
The show hosts, Aronjinle, MC Day, and Kanyisola, kept the crowd entertained throughout the day with interactive games, humor, and live commentary. The energy was electric as the crowd joined in for cooking and eating competitions, cheering loudly for their favorite contestants.
Cultural performances gave the event a truly African touch. The Eyo Masquerade made a majestic appearance, and the Igbo traditional dancers filled the stage with rhythm and movement that celebrated unity through diversity.
According to Kevin Eze, Founder and CEO of the African Food Network, the Lagos edition was more than just a festival. “Every year, we see the same thing, people coming together from different backgrounds to celebrate African food and culture. It reminds us that our food connects us more than anything else. Lagos showed us again that Africa’s strength is in its flavor, creativity, and community,” he said.
The African Food & Drinks Festival Lagos 2025 was headlined by Kuda Microfinance Bank and supported by Kiara Rice, Malta Guinness, Air Peace, Peak Milk, and Grand Soya Oil, among other partners and exhibitors.
By the end of the day, as the music faded and the lights dimmed, Muri Okunola Park had witnessed yet another chapter in AFN’s journey to unite Africa through food. It was more than an event. It was a statement of identity, pride, and togetherness.
