In a move to promote women’s health and early cancer detection, HerVest, a women-focused fintech platform, has partnered with NemHealth to host a free breast cancer screening and awareness programme in Lagos.

The initiative, held in commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, featured a two-part engagement — a live awareness session on Instagram themed “Health is Wealth: Why Women Should Prioritize Routine Checkups,” and a free breast cancer wellness check at the HerVest headquarters in Yaba, Lagos.

More than 50 women participated in the screening, which included breast examinations, blood pressure checks, BMI assessments, and blood sugar testing, conducted by certified medical practitioners from NemHealth. Participants also attended a health talk focused on early detection and lifestyle habits that can lower the risk of breast cancer.

Speaking on the initiative, HerVest CEO, Solape Akinpelu, highlighted the crucial link between financial empowerment and good health.

“At HerVest, we believe that true empowerment begins with good health. Our mission has always been to support women not just in building wealth but also in sustaining well-being. Partnering with NemHealth allowed us to bring this vision to life in a tangible way,” she said.

Participants praised the outreach for its impact and relevance.
Annabelle, one of the beneficiaries, said, “The event has been seamless, and I love how people are eager to learn about breast health and early detection. I encourage every woman to go for regular checkups and stay informed.”

Another participant added, “A big thank you to HerVest for this health talk and screening. We are so happy. May God bless HerVest and everyone who made this happen.”

Through initiatives like this, HerVest continues to champion holistic empowerment for women, merging access to finance, health education, and wellness awareness to promote inclusive growth and sustainable well-being.
